What am I realistically looking for my cambelt service?

I rang a local Renault dealer who said the cambelt alone would be £1,060.

I then called a reputable local garage who quoted a complete service inc water pump and cambelt for £600..

Dont use any old garage, even if there know to be generally good. The f4r engine requires renault specific tools, which can be brought from renault, but most places will try and use universal kits which end up messing the timing up. Only use renault specialists
