So you mean it no longer catches into place, or do you mean that its only sliding and not folding forwards anymore to allow access to the rear?

It is probably related to the release lever associated with the tilt mechanism. When the seat tips forward the runner lock is released to allow the seat to slide forward to further improve access to the rear. I suspect this release mechanism has stuck open. Get a torch and have a good poke around under the seat.
