Rear lights very dim!

Hey guys, My rear lights are really dim. The high level light might as well not have a bulb in, and the indicators are dire. Side and brake lights are acceptable but compared to every other car on the road they're light candles in jam jars.
I did notice that there is what I'm guessing is an earth wire going from one loom plug directly to the other. I'm guessing that I've got an earth problem, but want to know if anyone else has experienced this.

Sounds like an earth problem
not had it on the clio but have on other cars,just run another earth to the body or try to find were the original earth
cable is connected to the car -remove it give it a good clean with sandpaper and refit

That's what I thought, I'll have to have another look and check the connector for corrosion too.
