R27 #2392 from Portugal

Hi guys,

Better late than never...
Bough it in spring and haven't put many miles yet.

Currently is parked in the garage. It seems that the dephaser pulley had enough. New one alredy bought, waiting for the free time to change it.

Welcome along! Hope you get the fix done quickly so you can get back to enjoying the car

Thanks guys!

It really seems a nice car overall. Just waiting go to get it back on the road before the weather goes really bad.

Welcome to our forum dude. Good to see more international members involved on here.

Well,

New dephaser pulley installed and the top end tick seems to be gone.
Trouble is that I'm also getting a tick from the bottom end when it warms up. Next step will be to check the oil and and remove the pan to check the rod big ends for play.

Is it common for the oil pump to give? That could make both the pulley and the caps to die, right?

The engine only has 50k km (30k miles), so I'm puzzled.
Only thing I changed was the oil, and used the MOTUL 8100 X-Cess 5W-40 that complies to the Renault standards. Can it be the cause?

(should I open a new topic for this, in the right section?)

You may get a few more views and therefore potentially more chance of a solution if the question is the engine section? Just copy and paste into a new thread
