please help wont go into gear!!!!

hi as above just got in to drive 197 car wont go into any gear, starts fine however cant selet any gear with clutch depressed no onter noises would expect from clutch failure please help

I've had this problem dude. common thing with pre 2008 cars I've been told

It's fine if the car is warm, but if left over night and the car is cold it's a bit iffy.

I've since started the car in gear and wait till the revs dip below 1000 till i set off and she's fine.

thanks since started in gear and has drove ok! think i mite be trading in soon getting fed up ov these quirks, mate said could be early sign of gearbox, clutch failure!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

check brake fluid level - this also feeds the clutch hydraulics - clutch slave cylinders can start to fail

if all seems ok and there isnt any fluid loss under the car may be worth a try with some quality synthetic gearbox oil (try opie oils)
