Panel Filter Housing/box

Hi all,

Bought the car with a stupid eBay special induction kit on it... It has terrible heatsoak and gives me awful power at low RPM. I was looking at getting the £214.80 KTR Induction kit, but I've done some reading on the ITG panel filter, only problem is, I don't have the original housing unit to put the uprated panel filter.

This is my lovely Heatsoaked eBay special.

Does anywhere know where I can buy the original factory supplied panel filter box?

Another question, to the right cone, there's a U bend plastic pipe, what purpose does this serve? I don't want to rip it out not knowing what it is.

Cheers!

Complete genuine airbox from ebay including all hoses, + new oem basic air filter.
No heatsoak, does its job..
Imo original airbox it is not bad at all.. it takes cold air from mask.

The pipe is for the acoustic valve, opens at higher rpm to increase induction noise.

ooooo fancy! What's your opinions on RAMAIR? I've heard mixed things.

Anything is better than the crap that's under my hood at the minute, I'd take my chances  haha

I bought a genuine air box as my car came with a K&N plastic cone thing it was £85 and had a new air filter fitted. You wouldn't believe that the plastic pipe that comes across the front of the engine is about £120 and check the extra air expansion box down the front of the battery is still there and piped in.

Which RamAir product? A panel filter in the original airbox would be your best bet, unless you want increased induction noise. I fitted a KTec panel filter to my OEM airbox and didn't notice any real difference if I'm honest.

It's the one you linked me to, it's a RAMAIR panel filter. For the sake of this post, I bet it doesn't cause flat spots at 1.5k revs haha!

ah ok, yes that's a standard airbox with a RamAir panel filter. No, it wouldn't cause any flat spots at all.
Can I pick your brain on one last thing???

what's the difference between the one you linked - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Renaultsp...g&clk_rvr_id=1174996661896&afsrc=1&rmvSB=true

and the one I found?

The price of them is not an issue, as one comes with and uprated filter, my main question is, why is there a massive hose on one of them and not on the other?

Thanks, greatly appreciate the help!

The one that you found includes the pipes you'll need, whereas the other one doesn't.

I think the reason the other is so expensive is because it comes with an aftermarket panel filter which are about £40 on their own IIRC.
