Paint starting to come off

Cleaning the car yesterday I noticed that the paint has started to come off on the side skirts where they tuck into the rear arches. Where the arch lining meets the skirt if that makes any sense. Its only very minor but would of thought it isn't usual 'wear and tear'.

Has anyone else had this happen on their 197/200?

If it's wear I think you mean then surely it's just stone/debris damage being kicked up from the rear wheel. There's not a great deal you can do about it really.

Is it coming off in large flakes or just lots of stone chips??

You can always cover it with something like 3M ventureshield to stop it getting any worse. Either that or the 3M Di-Noc vinyl (which I've used for this before) works quite well. Just be sure to clean the area very well before applying the vinyl to ensure a good bond. The ends of my Focus ST side skirts were nearly white (car was red) by the time I put some protection film on them.

Yes bought from new - still under warranty for a month!

I think the best thing for me to do is take some pics. Does look like wear and tear, but, totally if there was protective film there or designed differently.
