So I've got a 2007 197 with the standard cd player, I'm trying to avoid an aftermarket head unit so I bought a newer standard Bluetooth head unit and dash/stereo pod but the wiring plugs are different. The pod on mine has 2 plugs and the new one has 1 plug, the head unit both have three plugs but seem different sizes has anyone done this conversion.....can I adapt the loom plugs to fit, basically trying to connect my phone to a standard head unit

hello
perhaps similarly, i like factory look, (also ideally was keen to utilise steering wheel /stalk control functionality. orange light uniformity was also important) and was able to hunt down original head unit along with cables (which had been removed prior to purchase with after market head unit fitted)
After a wile i was missing Spotify as well as ability to take calls
Found the attached Sony head unit which had large spectrum of colour option to try and match whatever was needed along with bluetooth and phone
easy to fit and works seamlessly
Never looked back
please see attached

It's doable but it's not plug and play, the looms in the 200 were different and you might need later clocks to unlock the head unit.

The smaller plug on the pod is for the seat belt / air bag light, i seem to recall the green plug on the stereo is the aux. input and the yellow plug the CAN bus etc. I'll have a dig through VISU and see if I can find the drawings...

Funny you mention clocks (uncertain if this is related jargon or timepiece) as I remember struggling to find the elusive yellow connector when attempting to get the stalk controls working with aftermarket head unit and for the life of me couldn’t locate it, then all of a sudden realised that it wasn’t hanging loose as per researched photos but actually plugged into the clock on top of dash!
