Only rev'd to 7k

Hi all,

had a quick search but couldn't find anything.

normally the car will rev to 7.5k but when I went out in it today, it hit 7k and the limiter kicked in.

has anyone had this issue before or know why it happened?

Was the car cold as it has a safty thing as in only lets the car rev so far went cold to save engine wear

No, I had been driving for about 15/20 mins.

Not fully warmed up maybe? Crap fuel?

Same petrol as normal, it should have been warm from driving already.

Just because you bought the fuel from the same place as usual doesn't mean it wasn't bad. Could be water getting into the tank (happened at a garage near me, it got new tanks fitted) or simply a bad batch. Might just have been a bit cold though.

I'd say same as others: not hot enough

Happens when the oil isn't up to temp iirc.
