Noisy steering to the right - lower ball joints?

So I've read quite a few with this problem, I've enquired myself but not yet had it looked at. When I'm approaching full lock on the right parking up or slow manoeuvring it makes quite a dry loud squeak. Is this the ball joint? Nothing to do with track rod end which was replaced earlier? If it is the lower ball joint, has anyone any idea how much this costs to replace? I just like a heads up before I agree to the work and you guys help.
Cheers.

Yeah it will be that
£110 for two - might as well do both sides - R sport
£120 fitting from bolsover car car

Yeah lots of posts about this.

Make sure you get a garage that knows what they're doing though as they need to be heated and dropped in, not pressed in.

Is it safe to drive til sorted? Also is it worth me ordering from RS and anyone know anywhere in Lancs?
Sorry for the multitude of questions.

Well theres a guy in chesterfield thats had some good reviews on here. Bolsover car care iirc.

Bit of a drive that. I'll ring the guys I've used before and ask them how they do it. Am I best getting a Renault specialist just to do that job?

There's Aaron's autos in Derby too
but I had mine done at bolsover last weekend
done in an hour and a half
watched them do them, spot on now

I drove mine for ages with the noise no problems. My other side is being looked at today while the gearbox oil is getting changed as it's making a noise, a month after the left side was fixed :rain:

The garages in Derby and Chesterfield are worth the journey imo. I have used Bolsover CC and they were brilliant. They are also very reasonably priced - from reading in other threads, certain garages charge the earth for this work.

I'm about to do this work myself.

Question is, how much heat should I use? Is an electric hot air gun sufficient, or do I need to use the blow lamp?

Yeah lots of posts about this.

Both of mine have gone, I recently had a quote from a local garage who basically called Renault and Renault told them they couldn't be replaced, a new hub assembly would be needed on each side resulting in a quote of... £2,200+! lol

No way on earth I'm paying that when I know they CAN be replaced, just most places won't entertain the idea because it's so involving and there's a risk of damaging other things and having to replace them too while doing the work.

From what I've heard your best to pop the new ball joints in the freezer to contract the metal so they drop in easier, I would go steady on heating the hub up as it's aluminium. My mechanic who's an ex ford m-sport guy has said he'd done a few of these on the Clio before and he prefers to drill the old ones out so not to risk bending/distorting the aluminium using a press. Then with the new ones having shrunk down in the freezer overnight it only requires a little heat on the hub to drop the new ones in.

Had mine hammered in lmfao.

Probably not the best idea, but it can be done.

I'll probably need to replace it again next year haha!
