Make sure the belts have been done regardless of the milage. If it's a 197 they should have been done by now.
Watch out for crunches in the gearbox especially going into 4th. They aren't the strongest box.
Make sure the steering feels tight and doesn't pull or wander as this could mean the lower swivel joints have play in them.
If it has Recaro seats, inspect bolsters for wear. Also steering wheels in these cars are prone to wear.
