Well, I picked my RB 200 up yesterday morning. Love it. :001_tt1:
Following spec:
FF 200 in RB
Cup Chassis
Renaultsport Monitor Pack
The car is an absolute dream to drive, and after covering 150miles in 36 hours, quite thirsty! I'm being a good boy and keeping it under 5k revs until its run in, but I did fail tonight on the way home after chasing a Fiesta ST up a dual carriageway. It wasn't much of a chase really!
The noise is fantastic, why anyone would want to change the exhaust is beyond me. The general refinement of the car has surprised me. Remarkably quiet and comfortable when just driving normally. Certainly glad I got the Monitorpack, as its very cool and geeky, but also for the bluetooth stereo, which is great as well.
Is it me, or are the electric windows really slow? My 14yo escort had quicker windows! Standard seats are very comfortable and fitted, don't really feel I've missed out by not speccing the (expensive) Recaros.
I would like to say also that the new car experience has been slightly marred by the dealer, for the following reasons:
I had to arrange my insurance 2 days early so they could tax it, as Renault wouldn't insure it for some reason. I'm 26, good postcode and no points / claims with 6 years ncb. This p****d me off a bit.
The car wasn't very well cleaned by the dealers, and has a variety of marks (not damage) on the paint, it looks like sticker residue. I'm not too fussed though as its having a 10 hour detailing session on saturday by Auto Detox
I noticed at 4pm yesterday that the Tax disc had the WRONG REG number written on it. I promptly rang the dealer, who initially were very unhelpful and expected me to sort it out. After speaking to a number of idiots, I spoke to the Business Manager who paid for a man to drive to local DVLA office today and arrange a replacement disc with the correct reg number on it, and was then delivered to me at work. I know mistakes happen, but they really did spend 10minutes trying to fob me off with 'you need to get a form from the post office etc etc.'
Other than, alls well. When the car gets detailed on saturday, i'll get some pics up, its pretty dirty already so seems fairly pointless.
Oh, and the colour is mint. To the people who said RB doesn't suit the 200, you must be colour blind or something?!?!?
