New Purchase/Brakes

Hi all,

just brought myself a Clio RS200, had 172 Cup‘s in the past but mostly German cars. Love the way it drives, Renault have still managed to keep a heavier car feeling just as nimble on the road.

Cars a running project already really clean, few bits to sort:

bumper seems a different colour to the bonnet so going to book in to get bonnet and bumper sprayed to match wings.
the resonator delete fitted seems to be blowing

My main concern is the brakes, car has had a new rear calliper before I purchased and the pedal is really ‘delayed’, brakes work but they take a lot of pedal travel before they do anything, brakes have been bled with fresh fluid and pads have been taken out and cleaned up Whilst I was there. I have booked the car into K-Tec as there could be air in the master cylinder. Has anyone had anything like this before?

already been doing some reading and spent today cleaning the PCV valve out, next job is cleaning the drainage holes under the panels.

Any other regular maintenance to be aware of?
Also after a decent phone mount if anyone has any suggestions?

I'd look at stripping and cleaning the front brakes, the pads can be prone to sticking. Remove pads, clean the calipers where the pads sit and then copper grease the backing plates of the pads. This maintenance also helps stop the caliper pins corroding into the calipers.

If you are going to touch the front brakes invest in some Mr. Pink pins https://shop.turborenault.co.uk/product/replacement-cliomegane-brembo-pins/

They are much easier to get out than the Brembo pins.
