New problems.. Similar symptoms..

Had even worse issues today + new symptoms

Started car...

Ran on what sounded and felt like 2 cylinders.. the sun visors where skaing it was that bad and it was trying to stall...

kept the revs at 2000 rpm to make it not stall and see what happens.. after about 30 seconds - 1 minute the engine light started flashing + the ESP light came on.. the dash said CHECK ESP and the spanner light came on..

Turned the car off and started it immediately after it stopped it started and drove fine the whole way home!

Will get it to a garage but each time there are no faults in the ECU

The dephaser pulley has been recommended and the 72k mile service is due in 6k miles.. what's everyone's opinion on this?

Anyone ideas?

I've seen a Megane 250 do something similar on a track day. Started misfiring badly and ran like a bag of nails. I honestly thought something very mechanical must have been very broken. The engine was left for a while, re-started and ran fine. It has run fine ever since too I believe.

The Dephaser will not cause a misfire.
