Looking at getting this new headunit tomorrow

Why is alpine so much better

They just have great sound quality and get one with a high pass filter to take away the frequencies that will distort the small speakers. The bass from my setup is almost unbelievable (Alpine CDE 123bt with Polk 5.25" coaxials). I also added some sound proofing for the rear speakers.
Go on to caraudioforum.com and read up on head unit recommedations

I've read that stalk controls on the 200 arent compatible with Alphine HUs for some reason. Correct me if im wrong.

Always had Alpines here.... and wont be changing soon! Hand controls work fine on my 197 cup if that helps lol!

They work with a 200 and alpine, just need a connects 2 and a patch lead

You need to just set down a number of features you want from the HU and find ones that match.

If you stick with some of the well known brands you should be fine, when I changed mine I looked at Alpine but didn't think they were anything special over other brands and the design of them was a bit.... salty?

I think mines a Kenwood and lets you change the colour of all the lights/LEDs to match the displays already in the car. Works well enough, though the B/T side of things is hampered slightly by my phones compatibility but that's the same for all of them.
