my car is making a squeaking noise?????? help

hi folks,
was hoping someone could help me, started my car as normal drove to work but wen stopped i kept hearing a very loud squeaking noise and i thought it was timing belt but wen dipped the clutch it went away, could it be the clutch release bearing??????????
