MOT Advisories??

Hi all,

Picking up my new 197 this week, its had an MOT this week where it passed but with two advisories:

1. Slight play in the n/s front anti roll bar drop link
2. Slight play in the o/s lower ball joint

Overall commentary was good and in relation to the above issues , mechanic said depending on how its driven, it may still pass with these next year too.

From my researchg these are cheapish parts and should make for a relativly low cost repair when they are finally required, is this the case or have i got it wrong?

Also should i get this done sooner rather than later?

Check which ball joint, chances are it is one that is built into either the outer or inner hub carrier, these are around £230 each.

FYI 3 ball joints each side.

You can buy the drop links for about £40 each if you search around the forum.

Drop links were £24 each for Lemforder ones from Eurocarparts when I bought some a couple of months back.

Also, I think it's Roy that has had the same advisory on his balljoint for a number of years now, and it's not got any worse by the sounds of it. I'm sure Roy will be along to confirm
