Megane 225...

Been to my local dealer to get some parts and have seen their latest used car on sale, an immaculate LY R26 megane, low mileage, stunning.

Obviously within minutes of looking the salesman comes over, remembers me from buying my 197, promised me a good offer should I wish to trade in for it lol.

I need help. Do I resist the temptation or consider the boost powered lovely???

Megane is £13000.
 
Sounds a bit steep, pick up a LY for 10k now private!!

They do look nice tho :smile:

If you do trade in, i will be very interested in some of your modifications if they are removed... First dibs :smiley:
 
The kicker is that for a while brokers were doing these for around £16k, wish I had bought one!

They are an awesome car, torquier (sp?) and more economical than the 197, as well as more spacious, but unless it has full leather, the back seat won't match.

I suspect though that it all comes down to the price to change.

Oh, and the R26 was a (the) Megane 230, not 225 (pedant!)
 
It's terrible everytime I go past a dealers I want a car there, my latest obsession has been a volvo T30 lol the one with the ST 5 cylinder lump.

But crazy thing is I luv the 197! I just crave the excitment of a new car lol.
 
Lol I can see where the temptation comes from! The R26 is awesome! Like you say the turbo could be what you need, plenty of mod options too!
 
RussZS has always said his R26 doesn't give him the thrills the 197 did. Think he said he was trading for a 200 next year.

Have heard other people say this too, turbo'd cars just aren't as much fun
 
Really!? I was under the impression it was a lot more extensive than the 197, certainly more BHP for your buck that is for sure!
 
yeah but not where near as fun. . . . . and in all fairness the 230 looks a bit dated now IMO

If it was me I would keep with what you got.

If you think the 197 has a few problems/niggles then wait to you get a R26, thats what put me of changing.
