Loss of power!

Has you mate got the renault cam locking kit, as there are many non renault decent garages that end up fitting them wrong. Just a wird of warning, mate.

Any idea where i can get one if he hasn't got one?

Are we saying that ONLY the Renault kit will lock the cams precisely and that a generic kit will not?
 
Might be best to go to a specialists, they offer the best of both usually.
 
Hes hes work for renault as reguard as a bloke that knows hes stuff, then there shouldnt be a problem. Quite a few people even with 172/182 have had missed timed cambelts fitted by decent local garages.

Apparently he worked for Renault in Gloucester for a couple of years so knows what hes doing. If it all works out then might be a good option for anyone local?
 
not sure not done but think it just lifts out its the seal thats a bit of a sod to fit i think
 
Sorry to drag up an old thread....

Did you change the solenoid in the end - i think mine has gone faulty as i have similar issues as you describe.

Is the part specific to the F4R or is fitted to other renault engines?
