Just a quick question on ktec cams. Because I'm in inverness it will be too far to get them fitted by ktec, was wondering if any good garage can fit these using the correct cam locking tool for renaults or is there a tool you need to buy from ktec? Don't want to buy them for a mechanic to say you need to fork out another 150 for a tool as they don't have one. Thanks again

Apparently these require special timing to slightly adjust one cam from stock settings. Catcams sell the modified tool for around £300. I wouldn't trust any old garage with it, half the time they can't even time up a standard F4R.

Feck that! 300 quid for a couple of bits of metal, the cams alone are way over priced imo its two bits of metal with lobes on them 780 quid tuning a renault is really expensive over other na cars I think!
most tuning are parts are just simple bits. Like an exhaust is just a bit of pipe.
But everything has to be made, tested, designed etc etc etc, which costs money. Hence why somethings cost a lot!

As GMC Motorsport have always been good at what they do (primarily Citroens), so might be worth a call to them to see if they can do it.

Yeh it would have to be done by someone who's familiar with renaults, gmc are good I'm just trying to source a sensible way of getting this done as ktec are like a 1 k round trip, which is very very far with a decat ktec lol!

what sort of price would you charge to fit and map cams danny?
It's £1550 with a both full belt kits, water pump, and remap. Be careful when looking at other advertised prices as some are for a belt only (not kit or any other parts)
oh not bad price at all then! what if i was to supply the cams in the near future? as some maybe coming my way fingers crossed
