Keycard question...

Just wondering, if anyone knows, if I was to start my car at my house with my keycard on my person, then leave the keycard into the house and drive off, will the car eventually cut out, or will it keep driving just with that annoying beeping going off?

This. It's a safety thing.

Imagine you're making progress in the outside lane of the a motorway at XXX mph when the battery of the keycard finally dies...would you want your engine to just cut out without warning because there's no keycard detected?
