My car is at renault today as I had a new key ordered fron France and reprogrammed back in April/May. The keyless entry and start work perfectly but the buttons on the fob itself do nothing. They told me a few weeks ago that the key is under warranty and as long as I haven't damaged the fob myself then if a new one is needed then it will be free of charge.
They called me today to say I need to bring the spare key to them for them to investigate further but if nothing can be found then I will need to pay for a new key and coding! I said I was told it would be under a 6/12 month warranty and she said I dont know who or why you were told that.
Any one have any suggestions as to why the buttons on the fob wont work? They work on my spare key (from a 3rd party locksmith) but the keyless entry doesn't.
