Jcs' RB 200 Cup

Following on from my recent return to the forum, I've been on the lookout for a 200.

I've seen a few sheds, over priced dreamers then found a red 200.

A deal was made with the garage only to find that the HPI check brought outstanding finance. So I left it.

I'd been looking at this RB 200 cup for a while but it was the other end of the country and a bit pricy in my eyes however put an offer on the table and left it with the seller.

A few weeks later he accepted due to already having a new car and I was on the train from Cornwall to Durham.

Here's the spec from the ad with a few slight ammendments from me

Exterior:
H&R lowering springs
Pure motorsport spacers 21mm rear 16mm front
Tinted rear windows
Black door bullets
Custom Rear RS badge
Diamond performance badge cover
Stubby Ariel
Racing blue centre caps
Weather protected underneath (Under sealed)
TRC side skits
Came with trc front splitter in the boot but it's takena beating
Rear Gt lights
LED license plate lights
Heko wind deflectors

Interior:
RS door catch covers
Yellow interior pack
Re-trimmed gear knob (yellow stitching)
Gloss black steering wheel insert
RS floor mats (yellow stitching)

Performance:
Scorpion Decat
Custom back box
Ram air intake panel filter
Apec performance brake disk and pads

Recent Servicing/parts:
New LUK clutch with release bearing (65k)
Lower ball joint replaced (Both front 69k)
Both rear callipers replaced (70k)
All coils and spark plugs changed (72k)
Full Renault 5 year service with all belts changed with proof (73k) (comes with aprox 11 months engine warranty)
Two brand new Michelin pilot sport 4s on front (50 miles on)

Test drive was great, all felt well although the exhaust might need some adjustments and the engine mounts have a tiny bit of play.

4 hours into the journey I hit traffic, traffic clears and I go back to fourth and boot.

Suprisngly it got to 4k and gave me what felt like a cold limiter and wouldn't rev any higher.

Looking at the forum, I'm hoping it's just a dodgy thermostat.

Since getting it home I've ripped the tints out and cut my hands up changing the sidelight bulbs.

Darker insert headlights are on the way along witha ktec induction kit.

Enough talking, here's a few photos

More to follow when I've fixed the non revving and added lights

Little update

Personalized number plate added
Ktec induction kit
Valeo darker insert headlamps
Trc splitter refitted - it is damaged in the middle but came with the car so seeing how I get on with it.
Silvertec indicator bulbs fitted
LED number plate units fitted

I've noticed that the exhaust sits an inch to the right and it's hitting the left headsheild.

Also think I've got a balljoint and engine mount gone so need to get it into a garage at some point.

Really enjoying the car.

Nice progress and good to see another owner/200 in Cornwall. Not many down this way!
Cheers. It's coming on nicely

There's me and Dan in St Austell (white 200 cup) and another couple of rbs in the local area but haven't seen that many about. Another reason I bought it.

Bit of an update

Popped my Thule roof rack on for when I take the bike out

Turns out that the headlights I bought were for LHD cars . So off they came again and are now on their way to Belgium.

And back to the silver insert lights

On the lookout for RHD dark inserts now.

Purchased some Carbon look handle covers from Ali Express.

Also found a non resonated Scorpion system locally for £150.

The custom system on the car is a bodge so it's a no brainer. Being fitted next Tuesday.

While having track rod ends and bushes fitted, the garage discovered another bodge.

What looks like 18mm spacers on the front when Pure Motorsports state that they need to be a minimum of 21mm.

Not ideal. 21mm Pure Motorsport spacers going on the front on Tuesday too.
