On that last pic, you can see the seem at the top, but not there at the bottom.

Idiots! If they can't fit a bloody seat cover why would you trust them to carry out any mechanical work on the car?!? I would have thought most dealers could replace Recaro seat covers in their sleep they'll have done so many..... :-(

so 2 attempts and its still far from right, how fars the next renault garage?

yes the garage you've gone to should be putting this right but it would appear they aren't capable

Let me come with you next time I just love a good rant at the b!tch for anything! They are utter utter sh!te at Mansfield they trueky amaze me at how bad they actually are

Its unbelievable that its taking them so long to sort this out.

Tha lady sounds like she needs a kick in the face.

i had a problem with bristol street motiors after service aswell..

i had a warranty issue regarding the electrics on the car, the engine management light was on intermittantly and the woman told me it was not covered by warranty, i asked for the warranty guy to ocme out and have a look at it and he said it wasnt covered, so i rang renault, and they said it was covered.. so i rang the garage to tell them what renault had said, and first some woman put the phone down on me, then she when i rang back she said o there must be a problem with the line, and put the phone down again... so 3rd time i rang up i gave her a different name and she put me through to the right department. they then proceeded to tell me that they will not do the work as it is not covered, even though renault had told me it was covered...

i walked out of the garage and went straight into renault manchester, where they said yeah no problem, took the car in, at first they couldnt find the problem.. but they changed a connection under the drivers seat and the light went off.. so i took the car away, a week later, same problem... took it back again and they had a look and couldnt find the problem again but said come back a week later as the car was safe to drive, and they would replace the loom in the car, as thats where the fault was somewhere...

went back, they changed the loom and never had a problem since, no questions asked, they just did the work!

i told them about bristol street motors and they told me that bristol street motors were losing renault because of the shoddy custer after service and too many complains... this was a few months before they lost renault... so its obviously as nationwide problem they have got...

i would never ever even look at bristol street motors again for anything to do with my car.. and i have told everyone about this to stop other people using them

it was bristol street motors in altrincham BTW

and to make things worse. i know an engineer in the garage and when i spoke to him he said it doesnt suprise him..

what number can i ring or where do i go if my dealer try's to fob me off
my car is in today for leaking sunroof and engine powerloss i have a 3 month

..

They'll never touch my car again nor will they get a single penny from me.

This is the best way of getting through to dealers, i called renault up, they put me on hold whilst they rang the dealer and then i was trasfered to dealer, i'd assume right after getting some **** from renault.

When i took car in, the woman at dealers asked me to wait whilst their 'renault technician' looked at it (they are now suzuki/hyundia) so i told her i'd like to go with him as i wanted to tell him how i wanted it to be.

When outside i showed him what was wrong, pointed out the passenger seat was perfect and it needed to look like that, i also asked him if he'd fitted it in the first place, he said no.

I told him it was the join between the two fabrics that needed to be tucked in, it should have definition, he said he did'nt think that it would come back so i told him he'd better order another cover then if this one was now no good, he said he'd try so i just told him if it did not look like the passenger seat i'd rejct it, nothing less than that was acceptable.

All was well when collected, if i wanted to be funny i could have moaned about the fact there were a few plastic filings on the carpet near the centre console, as if they've filed/trimmed something down to fit, it should have been hoovered but i just wanted my car back and to get out of the place.

:lol: ive picked mine up, ive been told it has to go back in for sunroof doing
and they don't see a problem with the power loss from the car, it took them 4 hours to tell me that and i had too mess about with the buses, and to top it off
when i picked it up a felt the power loss straight away

Not sure what dealer your using but i think the next time i want anything i think it will be a renaultsport specialist, harrats of wakefield for me, heard good things.

Probably closer to you than me

be better off using harrats of pontefract.....the staff have moved and the service manager there is shall we say on our wave length - its now nissan but a renault service/warranty centre

Cheers for that, still only 40mins away

im using evans halshaw rosevile road,

Thats were i went for my first 197 test drive, when the cups first came out (it was march 2008 ), only had about half the money for one so could not buy one but needed the test drive to make sure it was right car to aspire to.

Offered me the test drive car (nimbus cup) for about £11.5k but said i wanted a new one, they found me a white one in scotland with recaros and speedlines and offered it me for £14k, i made my excuses and tried to leave but offered me more money off.

He then went to get manager and i can remember him saying 'what will it take from me to get you to sign for it today?' and i can remember thinking 'about another £7k off' he then tapped his calculator a few times and it was down to £13.5k

I said i needed to talk it through with the missus and just wanted to leave, i'm sure it was offered to me for around £13k before i left, i did ask him or say to him not to ring me and give me time to think about it but an hour later as i'd got home they were on the phone asking me what i wanted to do.

I thought i was going to end up with my own stalker :hug1:

they did a similar thing with me n the misses really pushing for a sale
we managed to walk away and they kept ringing it didnt help that i loved the car as soon as i saw it, we managed to get better deal and bought it, i just want them too sort these 2 problems out, then i will search for a better place to take it after the warranty runs out
