Is removing the absorber mounting covers a good idea??

Hey fellas .. installed a front strut bar today and to do that the mechanics had to remove the absorber mounting covers otherwise it wont fit (attached the pic if you're not sure what I'm talking bout) ... am not sure if that was a good idea but they said it's quite normal ... will this have any repercussions?

Am concerned that water from the monsoon rains that we get here in Malaysia will somehow seep in or rust the bolts.

Any suggestions ?? Do advise.

I'm sure Renault put them there for a reason, however I wouldn't worry too much. But if you are going to worry then you could always spray the nuts/bolts with oil or even cover them in a sealant (Make sure its silicone free if there is rubber near to it as silicone can degrade rubber)
