iPhone 4 Integration

Guys,

Having secured my 197, I'm looking at iPhone integration options.

My 172 had a Dension kit which plugged into the back of the standard stereo, allowing the steering column controls to be used to change tracks etc and an active cradle which secured and charged my iphone, this also allowed my CoPilot sat nav app to give audible signals through the stereo.

I'm looking for a similar system for the 197 stereo, and I'd go for the Dension kit again to be honest, but the active cradle was poorly built and rattled badly if the phone wasn't in it.

Any suggestions welcome, it must charge an iphone 4 and have the option of an active cradle, it must also work with the standard steering column controls.

Seen a few alternatives but would be interested in what anyone else is using. Hands free phone operation would be nice too, but not essential!

Aftermarket head unit isn't really an option, I've never seen one I like the look of and without going to the trouble of changing speakers etc, they aren't really worth the effort.

Thanks :jase2:

I've been looking at something called xcarlink on eBay. Seems to do everything you (and I) want it too. Only thing is it doesn't display track names on the screen.

I've been looking at connects2, it does what you want but I can't think where to dock it. It's between the cup holder or the coin holder behind the handbrake, anyone got ideas? Or pics of where you've docked yours?

Does the connects2 control the ipod/iphone from the stereo though? I didn't think it did, that's why I stopped looking at it. The one I mentioned above can be controlled from the steering wheel remote etc

To be honest, if there is a dock available for either that's a good thing. My dock needs to be dash mounted for using the Sat Nav app, I'll have a look at them both, but I'm sure I've read there have been issues with connects 2 charging some iPhones?

I used a Parrot Mki9200 with an appropriate Brodit active cradle, I don't use the Parrot to charge as it isn't a fast charger, but instead stream using bluetooth. It is also an excellent handsfree.
