I think I've sprung a leak

Got home today and when I got out of the clio I realised that there was a trail of liquid behind me. When checking the underside of the car I noticed a clear watery liquid dripping from a panel below the near side front wheel.

The liquid seems to be trickling from the enginre bay and skliding round the top of the wheel arch down to under the car (a bit difficult to explain really)

Had a quick check in the engine bay but can't see anything (and I'm no expert). What could be leaking from somewhere around/under the battery? The liquid has the consistency of water and isn't discoloured, and doesn't have any kind of distinct smell.

Should I be worried? I have got my car booked in for my MOT on Tuesday, which is bloody typical :'(

Mmm, not for the last week or so. I could have hit a bump which may have knocked it loose I guess.

If that is the only thing that is really there to leak then should be ok for the next day or two then. I check the levels when I go out tomorrow but just hoping it's not brake fluid or power steering etc.

I noticed a leak on mine from thy area but at the drivers side. Took the arc liners out and found the scuttle panel drains were clogged and slowly dripping. Un-blocked them and seems to have cured it. Like yours mine had no smell or colour.

Hopefully your is as easy to fix as mine was. Might need to take your scuttle panel off which means wipers off which is pain.

if its brake fluid it has a smell and the level warning light would come on...clio doesnt have power steering fluid...its electric

All these years later and this guy 'Jambo' just saved me a whole lot of worries.. have exactly the same thing.. now I know its just the water draining pipe is clogged I feel much happier.. its been slowly dripping clean water for 3 days so must be one hell of a blockage.

If its slowly dripping, that would suggest it could be blocked under the scuttle panel, worth taking a look. I have had mine 12 months and unblocked it twice, i now try and park away from trees etc.
Give both sides a wash through with hot water and some all purpose cleaner (diluted) , you may also need a long screwdriver to unblock the rubber drain holes too.
