I think it has gone on strike! Help required

Need some help. I was just out driving, cruising in 5th at about 50mph, go to accelerate a little and it splutters a little (a bit like the kangerooing they do) dropped it down a gear or 2 and it was the same. It seems OK when cruising at a constant speed, however when trying to accelerate it seems like it is misfiring, it is the same on idle. I disconnected the coil packs in turn, going from the cambelt side, cylinder 1 it almost cut out, 2 and 3 revs dropped a little, 4 was somewhere in between. Any ideas/pointers? Clio 197 btw

It could have gone into limp home mode, thats how mine was.

It isn't limp mode. There is no engine light on either

from what you have done 2-3 aren't doing much - so need to investigate more
