Somewhere on here is half a how to replace gear synchros thread but only gets as far as taking box apart.is there a whole thread anywhere?

Without doing a full search, I can't say for sure, however I do know that every guide in the How To section is accounted for the in the directory list at the top of that section it's just recently been edited and posted up.

There is one by Stevenvenning which takes box apart and it stops there.lol

I imagine alot of members could have got that far themselves. Its there it starts getting 'complicated'......

as long as you have access to a press and some pullers thay arent that hard to strip - its only a few spanners to strip to major parts
