How does an RS Tuner work

Hi guys, been offered an RS Tuner but dont know much about them, is it just a device that your put a custom map on or do you buy a generic map? Any help would be great cheers :smile:
 
its a mapper and diagnostics tool, if second hand, you will have to contact henk at fastchips to get a new license to unlock it from the previous car then theres a number of basic performance generic maps that are free, but for a generic map for specific modifcations (custom map) you will have to pay for but i dont think they cost much. either way its generic mapping
