hole in rear cup holder?.

The rear cup holder behind the hand brake has a hole facing at an angle towards the front on my 200, anyone know why?, what's it for?.
Checked my partners 197 and it doesn't have one.

It could possibly have been an audio jack lead and the previous owner taken it out prior to selling

Is it where an armrest has been fitted and removed by a previous owner?

It looks like its from the factory, doesn't look drilled, its tapered as well, as though it should have a cover cap, should it not be there then?.
