Good news to report 'ive fixed the hesitating problem . The plastic pipe from the inlet to the air box had come off guessing it wasn't screwed on tight enough . Gave it a blast a good few times and all seems fine

Good to hear you got to the bottom of it and that it was an easy fix in the end!

Also, I agree on the fact that I wouldn't leave it 2 years between services... 1 year/12k miles.

I'm not a fan of letting engines warm up. They designed to be driven from word go nowadays. Engines warm up quicker on the go so all fuel parameters under normal conditions

That is so not true.
And you definitely should change this attitude If you have some mechanic sympathy for you car.
