Help - Creaking/Scraping noise when turning to full lock

When I was turning around to leave work today I noticed a noise that sounded like something scraping/creaking on the drivers side wheel area when I was on full lock, not when the car is moving but when I do a manoeuvre and turn the steering wheel from about 3/4 to full lock.
I have tried to replicate it and it is intermittent and doesn't always do it but it's still there. Anybody got any ideas what I could be ?

Thanks in advance
Matt

Thanks everyone! Is it something that needs doing urgently ? Or will the car be ok to use until I get it to the garage next week..

It'll be fine to use for now but it will fail an MOT on excessive movement.

Had the car in to the garage this morning, turns out it's the drivers side ball joint, also there is play in the passenger one too. He's spoke to a few parts places and the only place he can find them is main dealer at £170 each I think he said.
He says that it looks a proper ballache to do and it's not something they've done on one of these cars before - he's just gone to have a talk with his other mechanic to figure out how much fitting would be.

Has anybody got a recent price for having these done ? I'm so Pi**ed off, it's the last thing I need at this time of year and I was planning on changing the car in the new year anyway.

Thanks in advance. Matt

Even if you're selling soon, new ball joints it's something you can advertise as being recently done, being a common fault with these cars I imagine it would help the sale quite a lot.

£170 for the part and then labour on top of that is quite pricey. I had both sides of mine done at a place in Doncaster, so fairly local, for about £300.

Hi Matt, I highly recommend taking your car to Bolsover Car Care, just down the M1 from you. If they still do it, they charged me £120 to do one side. Renault specialists too

That doesn't sound too bad at all, I'll give them a ring and see what they say. Thanks Jimmy

Tell them that you're a member of this forum and that they were recommended to you. They were really good with me and I went back again for some more work doing.

They can do it cheaper because they don't buy the whole hub assembly, just the ball joint part that's needed.

Do you remember the name of the garage by any chance ?
Doncaster diagnostic centre. Based 2 minutes off of the A1. I would give them and Bolsover car care a call. Both garages have a lot of good reviews so you cant go wrong if you went to either one of those

IIRC, DDC were a member/trader on here not so long ago.

@Lewjew @Jimmy I will try give them both a ring this week and see what they say, I have heard good things from both of them so I'm sure i'll be in good hands.
Thanks again for your help, really appreciated!

Yeah I think you'll do well with either garage, I've heard good things about both.
Happy to help, good luck with it all. Let us know how you get on
