has anyone put a private plate on retention?

im thinking of puting my plate on retention but was wondering how long will my log book take to come through?

It's usually a couple of weeks max, but they always advise to allow upto six weeks mate!

Should be about the same time as it would to get the v5 through normally. You know the retention fee is higher than just transfer and it only lasts for 12 months at a time?

On the form it says upto 10 working days for the tax, mot, new reg and private plate retained paperwork to come back and upto 20 working days for the V5 (log book) dude i did mine last Fri. It costs £105 for a year..not sure about the cost for 2 years but it says it on the paperwork.

Also that includes the plate transfer fee £80 so you pay f.a when it comes to putting it on your new motor for example. Hope that helps

Took 2 weeks when i changed mines over so isnt that bad

I paid £80 for the first year and £25 each year after.

Mines came back 3 days after sending it away :O

It's £80 for the transfer fee and £25 per year retention. You do not get a free year with the transfer fee.
