Gearbox torque rating

I am thinking about doing a Turbo conversion and wondering if the 197 gearbox is up to the job. From what I gather the 197 box has lower gearing than the Meg R26 box. I will be fitting a proper plate LSD to the box anyway so don't care that the Megane box has one already.

Does anyone know if the 197 box will cope with the additional torque? Any ideas on the torque rating?

@DannyAG200 is running a clio box with his megane engine and has kept it to 280 lb/ft. Could also try firing rs tuning an email.

Yup as mentioned just above 280ftlbs and done two track days and about 6000 road miles spirited and so far it's been okay. I'm using paddle clutch also, so far so good with the 200 box
