Gearbox Refurb In Essex

Hey, my 197 has the typical crunching when going into 3rd at high revs and sometimes bit hard to get into 4th.

I'm thinking of getting the box refurbed.

Anyone know or can recommend a gearbox place in Essex area that could do this?

Yeah I got my box from them. T'was fine.

You're looking at about 5.5hrs labour for the change, may as well throw in a clutch kit as well. Not a cheap job!

Even if you don't change the clutch (which would be wise) change the slave cylinder.

Don't think you'll have any issues if you buy the box in the link, bear in mind the 024 box has a different 6th gear ratio compared to the 031.

Cheers for the input guys. Certainly not gonna be cheap. My clutch seems fine, never had any issues, think ill prob leave it for now. Try and keep the costs down a little bit!

Crunched the box a hard one last week. Hasn't felt right since. Even worse than what it was before.

Still not granny shifting anymore.. I miss being lazy.
