Gearbox crunch

getting the dreaded crunch from 2nd to 3rd at high rpm.. what oil would be best to reduce this?

Fuchs Titan Sintofluid seems to be well recognised, but to be honest if you are having a crunch then it is unlikely to make much if any difference.

If its a proper crunch then no oil will help you, if its just a notchy feel then changing oil might help.

Have a search though, this has been covered so many times as its a very common problem.

However I would not recommend Fuchs, it made no difference in mine and imo is just as good as the Elf oil that's in the box already. I would instead try some Red Line MTL as this is supposed to help iffy gearboxes change more smoothly.

thanks guys, its still under warranty from the garage but its a 57 plate car so i dont think ill have much joy.

I added the fuchs to mine last week. It has made the box quieter. However I wasn't having any issues with the gearbox beforehand, it was just something I wanted to change.

Mine is crunching from 2 -> 3 too and I'd agreed it really is Fuchs...

Try and get it repaired mate, if you have a warranty then it should be covered.

This will be my last RS I think, getting tired of all the little niggles now that all add up.
