Garage for brake mods

Hello everyone,

I just bought a nice Clio 200 and wanted to get ready for future track days. I wanted to start changing front discs, Ferodo DS2500 pads in the front, HEL brake hoses, and good brake fluid. Can you recommend any garage where I can do all this around London?

Thanks.

Sorry I can't suggest a garage but I would suggest not getting the DS2500, I would get the DS1.11 instead of you want to stay with Ferodo (I've not used DS2500 on the Clio but I have on previous cars and they are so overhyped, crap on road and crap on track). DS1.11 have got some amazing feedback on here alone (there are also many others using Carbone Lorraine, PBS and some others).

Thanks for your answer, I chose the DS2500 because they work fine on cold and not too bad on track, I don't want any surprise when one day I start driving, I see someone crossing the street, trying to brake and not be able to do it because brakes are cold. Do you have this problem with the DS1.11? I've been thinking also about Pagid, but no idea which ones could fit what I looking for, a few track days a year and normal driving the rest of time.

The ds1.11 have destroyed my alloys, but for road and track, no fade, no squeal, and no shuddering with pad pick up. For me, the knack is get on, get off brakes, don't linger!. My son had just fitted Winmax pads, and he recons they are better than the ds1.11, but they are more expensive. I have had 2500 in past, but would not use again. The 2500 will suit a lot of people, just not me.

Yep that makes total sense, then it is worth having just standard Brembo (or equivalent) pads for road and swapping over before a track day, they're so easy to change over (if you are not aware, you take out the caliper pins and put the pads in, no need to take caliper off, just need to take off wheel).
It's very hard to get a good compromise of street and track, the DS2500's are just crap at both in my opinion (like the comparison of all-season tyres compared to having a good summer and winter set of tyres).
