Fitting a turbo engine - Clio 197

Hi all,

After a bit of time searching for an engine, I have learned that someone local to me has one for sale.

It's been rebuilt by the owner, who works for a trusted local garage, and was built from the ground up with a turbo in mind, so the pistons aren't as high of a compression as an NA 197. The engine was never fitted to the car and the car was since sold, so the engine sat for a while - not sure how long it sat for

The engine was built for 400 to 500 bhp, but apparently could take a lot more. I'd probably only want 320 max, to be honest.

The specs I'm aware are:
  1. 9.5:1 Wossner pistons
  2. PEC con rods
  3. ARP bolts
  4. Inconel exhaust valves
  5. Catcams sfiffer valve springs
  6. Standard cams - I believe they're from a 182, since the engine was a 182 engine and apparently good enough for a turbo, with higher lift
This isn't what I was looking for, as I wanted to keep the car NA, but to be honest, the price is really good and hard to pass on.

He wants £3K for it and it comes with a log-style manifold for a turbo and an intercooler for a 182. I believe the exhaust manifold would be the same for a 197, but not sure on the intercooler.

It does not come with a turbo, however, so that's something I'd need to look at. What sort of turbo should be fitted for my power goal, keeping in mind I'd like it as close to NA feel as possible?

Would I need an ECU or could the stock one be mapped?

Lastly, any questions I should be asking the seller?

Pictures of the engine attached for anyone who's interested.

Thanks

I'd like to go for reliability, ideally. Would that fit the bill?

Where would I get a pipe that connects the exhaust to the turbo inlet and one that connects the intercooler to the turbo?

Just trying to gather all the info I need before going balls deep
