First Time Detail

As above, got the car nearly two weeks ago and had my first day off in ages so thought I would give the car a good clean. Now I've never properly cleaned a car before so I watch some YouTube videos and read a few things so thought id give it a try. I have posted a few pictures of what i did and the products I used, any help or tips would be grateful. Is Dojo Juice as good as people say? Is a Clay easy to use?

Started at 10.15.

First of all I cleaned the wheels with 'Simoniz Wheel Cleaner', did a good job and the wheels look fresh and have no break dust on them

Then the whole car was treated to a good rinse and I used 'Wonder Wheels Bug & Sap Remover' to get rid of them hard to shift bugs.

Next I used the 2 bucket method and cleaned the car down with 'Auto Glym Shampoo Conditioner' which worked really well and already allowed the car to shine a bit more as well as let the water run off better. Took my time and dried the car off.

The next stage I had some 'Auto Glym Super Resin Polish' and I treated the car to a good polish and then a good buff using a new clean microfiber cloth.

Then I made the mistake of thinking "clean the windows" so I took out the 'Simoniz Glass Cleaner' and cleaned all the windows and lights (including Fogs) while there I cleaned the insides of the drivers and passenger windows too.

Next for the clean was 'Simoniz Tyre Treatment' and this must have been the dirtiest part of the car as the two microfiber cloths (Application, and Buff)that I put to one side for this job were filthy after. lol

The final stage (I thought) was 'Auto Glym Aqua Wax' I went for the Aqua Wax as I have never waxed a car and didn't know if id cock up a proper normal wax and it seemed a lot easier to use for beginner's. So I applied and my mistake of cleaning the windows first came as I got over spray! lol. But waxed the whole car (smelt wonderful  ) left it then buffed to a high shine using the 2 provided microfiber cloths that Auto Glym kindly provided.

Then cleaned the windows and lights again, with a final application of 'Rain-X Glass Cleaner and Rain Repellent' just to make them bugs etc easier to get off next time.

Finish 12.45

Check the pictures, feedback welcome! Anyone who knows of a comprehensive YouTube video/tutorial please let me know.

Sorri about the poor quality phone pics.

On the negative side, every flipping insect loves Liquid Yellow paint :@ lol

Looks a good job. Buy yourself a decent proper wax and you can't really mess it up apply a panel at a time and remove after 30-60 seconds and you'll be fine.

Chemical Guys 50/50 wax is awesome. Failing that try DoDo Juice supernatural is great on Liquid Yellow

As said just make sure the paint is propper clean before hand (clay, etc) and make sure that you dont apply when the paint is hot or in direct sunlight

you will reap the benefits when you next come to clean it. will be a doddle

Worth investing in a good spritz or QD too (Red Mist or Zaino)

Where is a good place to get either Chemical Guys or DoDo Juice?

And what is 'good spritz or QD too (Red Mist or Zaino)'?

I get all my stuff from www.cleanyourcar.com - Its a great site and you get reward points to so you can save them up for free stuff

The 50/50 wax is this:

DoDo Juice Supernatural:

This is gonna be my next one when my current stuff runs out:

Zymol Carbon:

As for the 'Spritz' Its this:

Great to use when you have just washed your car but dont need to wax again. Keeps the protection level up.

This is the QD (Quick Detailer) that is use to keep the shine there when im not needing to wax:

How would you "detailing guru's" wax an R27 with the roof decals?

I use a sealant but I always find myself picking out white bits whilst I'm standing at the fuel pump...it's bloody annoying.

Came out nice fella, same as mine bar black wheels,
I may give Chemical Guys or DoDo Juice a try as i need a decent wax
