I'm just wondering what the advantages are of changing the filter?
If there are any, what kind of filters would people recommend?

I fitted an ITG panel filer. It doesn't give you more power or make more noise but it filters the air better which is the main advantage of fitting an uprated panel filter. Uprated panel filters also last a lot longer than paper ones so although the I initial outlay is a lot more it should save you money in the long run.

No real performance gains, but it's got to be better than a bit of paper hasn't it!?!
