Fascia for Alpine Stereo?

Im getting an Alpine HU tomorrow & was wondering if i'll need to get fascia for it to fit nicely?

Just a second trim to fill in the gap, the one from the megane is identical they can be picked up on ebay for a fiver!

thanks for the tip, will do so... haven't opened the box yet but the stereo must come with a cage?

gonna install this eve...

I got this 1 from ebay using with Alpine IDA-X305 and fits a treat, but remember to fit the trim before fitting cage which i didn't 1st time round Doh!!

I still managed to do this!

Apart from that wasn't too bad at all, the only really frustrating part was trying to get those bloody cables to get through the hole at the back of the console, with the alpine model i got the wires all come out on the right of the stereo, but the holes for the wires at the back of console is on the left

I'm gonna install component speakers on saturday & first take out the stereo again to cable tie everything which will make it easier & neater to feed through, and then cable tie it all together again at the back of the glovebox/console

Anyone got a tip for where to put a mic being fed from a bluetooth box? im feeding it from the glovebox & got plenty of cable to work with

I fed the mic round/under the dash in the drivers foot well, if you remove the U shaped end panel on the end of the dash (you can only see this with the door open) you can feed the wire up the A pillar by pulling back the rubber laying over the plastic cover.

Bit difficult to explain but it's really the only logical/practical way to do it when you look at it :tongueout:

In regards to the cables at the back I hope you removed the glovebox? makes it a ton easier and you may be able to hide any kind of bluetooth box behind there.

yeah i did same with cables and also having the KTP-445 Head Unit amp box hooked up I mounted that to bulkhead behind glovebox with the cables tied up above, plenty of room to do this.

If you need to run a sub amp cable, I found good place to drill through bulkhead is locate the 2 pipes from heater as they go through bulkhead from inside then go 3" to left of them and centre to the 2 pipes and it comes out in a nice clear section within the engine bay just left of air box.

If you remove the lower gearstick/handbrake trim then you can run the cable down the left side and across middle then back up right side and have it coming out on top of steering column, I'll try to find guide i used as it was very easy to follow.

this was the guide but you have to join to be able to zoom into pictures but i found them clear enough not to bother

cheers, for years i ran an aux cable from the factory HU, slid it out to the glovebox side then tucked it under along the bottom of the centre console & poked it through the handbrake hole, didn't even have to remove trim

no sub for me yet, i got a good set of components & think theyll do, i just tested the new HU & its really amazing already with the factory speakers, the new speakers will blow me away im sure
my comps are so heavy im not sure the standard bolts will hold them for long and they go back so deep im not sure they will even fit straight in the door

good spot on space behind the glove box now i'll stick my bluetooth box in there instead of cluttering up the glovebox, and yeah it had to be removed, no way those cables were going in otherwise, no chance!

im thinking of mounting the mic somewhere low as when you usually hold a mic you get more sound holding it under your nose than pointed at your mouth anyway, so im not going for high up the a pillar or anything, im thinking hidden behind the steering wheel somehow
