F4R 830 vs F4R 832

Hello,

please, can I put in Clio RS 2007 without any electrical or mechanical change F4R 832 engine?

Thanks, Roman.

Can I put into my F4R830 engine piston set with Renault number 7701472823?
7701472823 should be for Clio B 172/182 but the piston diamater is the same....the compression ratio too?
Thanks, R.

You can interchange an 830 to an 832 no problems, both mk3 engines.

But your second post worries me a little because an 830 is not a 172/182. The 172/182 were both a 73x code engine, and you cannot use a 73x piston in an 83x engine, completely different crown and valve rebates.

btw the codes are:
73x (730, 736, 738 ) Clio ph1 172, ph2 172, 182.
830 is 197
832 is 200

Thanks for answer!

I have ask because my Clio has nearly 200.000km and consuming oil.
I have two choises now:
- my current engine refurbish
- buy engine with low mileage and change

I decide probably for refurbish, because is it cheaper and I can not find engine for good price :001_huh:
One seller offered me this piston set and wrote, that I can use it for F4R830, but is it wrong recommendation.

Do a leak down test and see, might just be valve stem seals. Alternatively just go from the oe grade 5w40 to a 10w50. If you're considering a rebuild/new engine anyway might as well try it.

I use Renault recommended oil ELF 5W40.....it might be better to use 10W40.
From the last oil change "eat" the engine next 6L.....I think is it too much.
1 and 4 cylinder has less compression than 2 and 3 cylinder.
These two spark plugs were dirty and worked not 100%.
Additionally valve lifters are noisy.

I think is it really the right time to rebuild the engine )

Yeah sounds like it should do now.

in my experience we see lots of f4r engine and the stem seals arent normally an issue...

more than likely the bottom end ie rings/bore wear...just seen its done 200k which is like 130000mile so most likely needs a rebore/refresh time etc
