Exhaust heat wrap

what are the benefits of doing this?....is it simply to keep the heat down in the engine bay?

my manifold is coming off tomorrow thats all...

the posts by "Harvey" seem quite reasonable.

I've run wrap on everything I've built, but only good quality wrap, and not **** -never had issues

another good read, cheers shakey....also gives me a bit of faith that my manifold will be ok after its welded, fingers crossed

personally think it seems beneficial to wrap the manifold then to keep the temps down and improve the throttle response slightly, the only draw backs seem to be cracking but who's to say the manifold wasn't going to crack anyway without the wrapping on as tubular mani's seem to have this problem

I did the manifold on my alfa, makes a difference.

After a good session, say 10 mins on track it makes a completly different sound, revs quicker and pulls better.
