ESP permanently de-activated

I installed a subwoofer in my car this afternoon. This involved removing the battery, battery surround as well as the air box. Now when I start my car, I get the ESP/ABS deactivated light on and I can't turn it off using the button. Any idea what could have caused this? Is it possible I could have dislodged a fuse? If so, which is the fuse for it?

Try driving the car mate, they usually do this after disconnecting the battery

+1.

Can also have the same wobbler after being on a rolling road. Give it a nice gentle drive for a few minutes and all should be well.

Oooooh that's a relief. I had the battery out ages. I thought I might have damaged a wire when I was making a hole in the bulkhead grommet.

Cheers chaps

Whenever i removed the battery in mine, i found somewhere that if you put your steering full lock one way, then full lock the other whilst the cars started, then it resets it and your ESP button will work as normal

I done the Same thing! If you read your own manual, it tells you to turn the steering wheel lock to lock a few times! It worked for me
