Door Strip (Beside Window)

How come some cars have a black section on the door beside the window and some are body coloured?

For the cars with the black section can this be removed?

It's just a sticker. Not sure if some came from the factory or if the owners just took them off.

Yeah thats the one Sean thanks. Think im going to remove them, I prefer the look without.

I prefer them with on my colour car. Gonna get them wrapped in gloss black
