De-cup my Cup!

Right,

I have a cupped FF 200. Having just driven from Aberdeen to Bournemouth I've realised how foolish my purchase has been.

I've never been on a track and no immediate plans and basically it's too damn hard to be fun just now.

My 197 was standard and I need that back.

What are my options? If I go to Renault what sort of figures am I looking at to have the standard suspension swapped on? Presumably I could sell the springs etc to recoup some of the cost?

Help!

I think your best bet is to swap your suspension with someone elses and pay a specialist to fit it.

You'll probably find a lot of people wanting the cup suspension.

Main dealer prices will be extortiante and they'll probably charge you a days work too.

Yeap, forget about buying it new and fitting it at a dealer, very expensive and it's not worth it. Create a thread on the wanted section, say that you are after a FF setup. Make sure you don't get a set with different top mounts.

I believe OllieRS in here is about to fit coilovers and he's running an FF. Drop him a pm.

What year is your cup? If it's approximately August 2010 on you might have the new top mounts so you won't be able to use 197 or early 200 and vice versa.

Hi I did a welsh day 503 miles FF200 cup Recaros no problems what tyres you running and are your tyres over inflated just a thought

I done a trip to the ring in mine last October and mine was the lowest and hardest (went with Astra VXR, punto arbarth, focus ST) was ok but yeh when we hit the cobbles in Ypres all I could hear was laughing over the walkie talkies cause we looked like nodding dogs.

But! We looked good doing it

Kumho LE sport. On car when I bought it.

Was a 1,500 round trip and it got better as time went by. The roads in Scotland are piss poor though which doesn't help.

Quoted £1,370 by Renault for parts/labour...lolz!

This puzzles me... I really don't think they are that harsh at all on distance journeys, especially on motorways. Maybe if you've got a bad back or something then fair enough.
