Day Z Standalone ??

I did for a bit, wasn't much fun though. You spend ages running around just trying to find a tin opener and a drink then get shot by people pretending to be friendly. Alternatively you play the other side spending ages running around trying to find stuff and doing every person you see over until you get shot in the back by someone better.

Too slow on the game play for me at the moment.

I was thinking about buying this. Is the standalone full of bugs or is it quite stable?

Looks like a right laugh with a few mates, but could be pretty terrible playing on your own?!

Going to watch the Day Z mod videos now or is it not worth going for the mod version vs the standalone?

I bought this day of release, got a bit repetitive at the moment though. Spawn, loot, die to highly geared player, repeat. Zombies that seem to be nowhere and die in 1 hit which just turned into highly geared teams killing everyone.
Playing Arma mods until they progress a bit further as the development blogs etc look interesting. Will be an amazing game when fully released out of Alpha.

Got a choice, Arma II is £7.99 and mod is free, or Standalone is £19.99. ??

Never heard of Arma series of games, tbh I don't game much anymore but I love Zombie stuff so fancy trying this.

i never found the Dayz mod very fun. Just save the pennies and buy arma 3 (Youll need a high spec pc though)

Yeah Arma 3 and Breaking Point...so many choices!

My PC is my Laptop, so not the best for gaming but might be ok? Dual core 2.5ghz i5, 8Gb, SSD and 2GB ATI HD7730M.

Id stick with arma 2 then. 3 will have a really slow frame rate at high detail with that setup. I run a AMD bulldozer with 2 gtx 680's in sli with 16 gb of dominator ram and arma 3 still sometimes runs slow

The mods for Arma in terms of gameplay are miles apart from Standalone at the moment, but then it's still in Alpha so that's what you'd expect. Dayz was good fun don't get me wrong, just got boring very quickly. It'll be amazing once they've finished the development but it'll also double in price at that point i'd expect.

Yeah zombies can be a pain in the arse but you can kill them in 1-2 hits with splitting axe or fireaxe or even baseball bat.

im running an i5-4440 3.2ghz with 8gb ram and gtx 550ti on medium to high settings and still get good fps lowest i get in big cities is 25-30

Started getting in to it a bit this week, managed to get my guy well kitted out with a pristine camo moslin & ammo, magnum & ammo, 1911 &ammo, also some other silenced pistol thing with ammo! huge backpack, more beans and peaches than i want to eat in a year etc etc,,,,,,, then some a55hole just KOS me

now i'm christ knows where, in the middle of a forest... so took all my clothes off and have just gone running!! properly lost now!

oh and when you break your leg's it has to be the most annoying thing in the world. spend an hour or more finding a barn or something you can barrel roll up and then off. why you can not just respawn I don't know why. stupid.
