Cup chassis?

So currently on the hunt for a Clio 197 and came across the following car for sale:

Am I right in thinking that the Cup chassis was only introduced late 2007 after the F1 was released and if it's on an 07 plate then it won't have the Cup chassis?

I would go and look at the springs as suggested but living in the Lake District it's a long way to drive to Bristol! Do like the look of the car though...

looks like it has the cup Chassis on pal as the calipers are red but without checking the springs it could have just had the breaks painted im fairly sure they did the cup pre 2007

Looks like it's had the brakes and wheels painted to me - the Brembo decal on the calipers should be black not white. IIRC the R27 didn't start till '57 reg.

Are you in the market specifically for a Cup? If not then this could be best of both worlds, the nicer interior and gadgets from the FF but with the cup looks (presuming it's got springs from the cup too..)

I'm not specifically after a Cup chassis to be honest, living in the Lakes the roads round here are pretty rough and think that the Cup chassis setup will be just too stiff for what I'd need it for. As you say it's the best of both worlds, ideally I'm after a Nimbus Grey 197 with the grey wheels and that car seems spot on. Was just thinking that if it was priced as having the Cup pack then there could be some room for negotiation on price that's all.

The cup chassis wasn't available till all the R27's (F1) were sold. Iirc they started the cup option around oct/nov of 2007.

Ideally looking at spending up to £5000 on a 197, not too fussed about mileage as long as it's got a full history as I'll only be using mine at weekends really. Do love the look of the Nimbus Grey with Cup pack though

Theres a nice R27 in Nimbus with Recaro's/Cup chassis etc on Autotrader for £6k, I'm sure you could haggle a bit but would cost you over £5k. Entire spec you're after and some.

Yep agree with robo here brembo decals should be black, but then again how many people have repainted the calipers? Could be just what the previous owner preferred, still bring it up when haggling good chance the dealer has no idea haha

Get the owner to send you a pic of the factory decal from inside the driver's door slam panel - if it's a genuine Cup, it'll state it as such on this decal.

Come on not that hard to spotted! R27 got rear tint windows, anthracite alloy and red brembo with decals black. None of the 197 have cup pack till 2008 after R27 stop making.
