Column Power steering leak

I’ve taken my dash and the steering column surround off to fit my cage and found there’s a really thick liquid (think peanut butter) coming from the column power steering. I thought the steering was sometimes a bit heavy but never thought i had an issue.

Anyone ever had a leak from the column as I can only see rack leaks on here? And how much of a PITA is changing the column part of the power steering?

It should be an EPAS system so I wouldn't expect to see any kind of fluid other than a bit of grease. Did it taste like peanut butter?

I've not had the column out but I have done some work on it recently - disconnecting it from the rack and installing an EPAS adjuster to change the steering weight manually and it looks fairly easy to remove, a couple of bolts up top and that's it.

Disconnecting it from the rack took me a while but for me it was because I already have a cage installed and that limited access. Though i didn't find i needed to remove it to install my full cage. Which cage are you installing?

Total pain! Removing and replacing not too bad but any replacement column has to be set up using Renault diagnostics. Won’t start until this is done! Don’t know where your peanut butter came from!
